LDI Expert Tapped as Industrial Workers’ Pension CIO

Denmark’s Industriens Pension has hired a replacement for Henrik Nøhr Poulsen.

Industriens Pension has appointed Nordea Life & Pensions’ head of liability-driven investments as investment director.

Karsten Kjellerup Kjeldsen will take up his role at the DKK 140 billion ($20.3 billion) Danish industrial workers’ pension on April 1, Industriens Pension said in a statement. He will be responsible for the pension’s entire investment operation.

Kjeldsen replaces Henrik Nøhr Poulsen, who began at fellow Danish pension PFA on December 1 as head of shares and alternative investments.

“By appointing [Kjeldsen], we have the organization in place to continue our successful investment strategy and manage the growing complexity in the investment area,” said Industriens Pension CEO Laila Mortensen.

The pension added in its statement that it was planning further senior appointments to the team, which includes Jan Østergaard, head of unlisted assets, and Jacob Bering, who is responsible for overseeing investment risk.
