Andrew Zimmerman
Affordable housing debt manager Impact Community Capital LLC announced Tuesday the promotion of Andrew Zimmerman to CIO, overseeing the firm’s investment strategy, portfolio management and capital deployment efforts.
“Andrew has been a key contributor to the growth and maturation of IMPACT’s investment strategy, bringing a disciplined approach to underwriting, portfolio construction, and capital deployment,” said Impact Community Capital CEO Michael Lohmeier in a statement. “Andrew’s leadership, discipline, and clarity of vision have strengthened IMPACT’s ability to deliver high-quality investment products for our partners.”
Lohmeier was promoted to CEO from CIO in December 2025, replacing the retiring Jeff Brenner.
Zimmerman previously served as manager of investments at the firm from 2014 to 2021, as director and portfolio manager from 2021 to 2025, and as managing director in 2025 and 2026.
The manager, founded as a captive manager for some of the largest U.S. insurance companies and still insurer-owned, aims to provide institutional investors with access to complex affordable housing debt investment structures, according to a statement from Impact.
“I am proud to be given the opportunity to lead IMPACT’s investment team in my new role as CIO,” Zimmerman said in a statement. “At a time when stability and consistency matter more than ever, our focus remains on delivering durable income, thoughtful portfolio construction, and long-term value for our partners.”
Previously, Zimmerman was an associate at Metropolitan Real Estate, a unit of the Carlyle Group, and was an associate at Piper Jaffray. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and an executive MBA from the University of San Francisco.
