Wesley LePatner
Blackstone Inc. executive Wesley LePatner was among four killed in a Monday shooting at the Park Ave. building that houses the firm’s New York offices, according to a firm spokesperson.
LePatner was the firm’s global head of Core+ Real Estate, a unit within the firm’s $315 billion AUM real estate business, which focuses on real estate investments with a long-term horizon with moderate leverage. She was also CEO of Blackstone’s Real Estate Income Trust Inc.
“We are heartbroken to share that our colleague, Wesley LePatner, was among those who lost their lives in the tragic incident at 345 Park Avenue. Words cannot express the devastation we feel,” Blackstone stated. “Wesley was a beloved member of the Blackstone family and will be sorely missed. She was brilliant, passionate, warm, generous, and deeply respected within our firm and beyond.”
LePatner joined Blackstone in September 2014 after spending 11 years at Goldman Sachs. She started her career in Goldman Sachs’ real estate investment banking division, later holding real estate investment roles in its merchant banking and asset management groups.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from Yale University.
“She embodied the best of Blackstone. Our prayers are with her husband, children and family,” Blackstone stated. “We are also saddened by the loss of the other innocent victims as well, including brave security personnel and NYPD.”
