Goldman Sachs Asset Management Winner

Goldman Sachs Asset Management was named the winner in the Asset Management and Servicing category for ESG/Sustainability.

One of the benefits of being part of a larger organization is that Goldman Sachs Asset Management has access to numerous resources for any climate solutions tools for its clients. Environmental, sustainable and governance factors are a dynamic field with ever-rising expectations from both clients and other stakeholders, so the firm needs to be able to provide them with the right tools to build robust investment portfolios. These factors helped GSAM build the business that was recognized in December 2024.

“We have continued to invest significantly in our engineering team and develop our technological offerings for our clients, primarily focusing on regulatory guidelines and ESG enhancements,” said Tim Braude, head of multi-asset solutions at the manager. “This includes climate risk scenario analysis tooling, forward-looking climate indicators and integration of custom ESG metrics in client reporting.”

In the past 18 months, the firm has developed two-climate related metrics and analytics tools: the Climate Capital Market Assumption and a net-zero alignment metric, which the firm can use for climate scenario analyses and stress testing.

Goldman Sachs’ approach to sustainability was founded on two areas of impact, according to its website. GSAM reported a commitment to accelerate the climate transition and advancing inclusive growth. For supporting a transition to a low-carbon inclusive economy, the firm invested in five key themes: clean energy; sustainable transport; sustainable food and agriculture; waste and materials; and ecosystem services.

GSAM has a $750 billion sustainability finance goal firmwide by 2030 and has $325 billion in sustainability-related assets under supervision. Overall, the firm supervises more than $2.6 trillion in assets.
