A Note from the Editor-in-Chief

CIO’s boss on holiday parties, eggnog, and the fifth annual Industry Innovation Awards.

CIO_Opinion_Kip_Photo_StoryIt’s December, the month that demands awkward company holiday parties (put down that fourth glass of eggnog…), stressful “vacations,” often-disappointing year-end bonus calculations—and, for people in the magazine business, annual years-in-review, predictions for 2015, and “Person of the Year” announcements.

For readers of Chief Investment Officer, it’s awards season. For 500 of you, the first look you’ll have at what’s inside this issue will come at the after-party for our fifth annual Industry Innovation Awards, held December 8th in New York City. For the rest of you unlucky souls, you’ll have to wait until this lands in your inbox or mailbox. But for all of you, I hope you’ll take the time to read the profiles of this year’s winners, for these are some of the most forward-thinking CIOs in the industry.

Also, I’ve never understood eggnog.
