Adam Biren
Alternative investment manager AEA Investors L.P. announced Tuesday the appointment of Adam Biren as partner and head of capital formation for the Americas, effectively immediately.
Biren, previously a managing director at Apollo Global Management, led investor coverage for Apollo’s U.S. South and Southeastern clients within Apollo’s client and product solutions team.
At AEA, Biren will focus on the firm’s capital-raising efforts and the expansion of the firm’s relationships with limited partners. He will report to Steve Elia, AEA’s global head of investor relations and fundraising.
New York-based AEA manages $19 billion in assets across its middle-market private equity and private credit platforms.
“Adam’s arrival strengthens our capital formation efforts as we continue to invest in AEA’s investor relations function. He brings a deep understanding of selling multiple products through a truly partnership-oriented and consultative approach to LP relationships, built over years advising investors from both the manager and intermediary sides,” Elia said in a statement. “We look forward to working with Adam to broaden our reach across North America, leveraging his longstanding relationships as well as a deeper focus in regions currently underserved.”
Before working at Apollo, Biren had been a vice president in Evercore’s private funds group and was head of the firm’s investor coverage for clients in the south and southeastern U.S. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
