Brown Advisory LLC announced on Wednesday the appointment of Nick Kirrage as a portfolio manager and a partner in the firm. He will lead the newly established equity strategies: global value and international value.

Kirrage, who joined Brown Advisory earlier this month, had spent nearly 24 years at Schroders, where he was most recently the head of global value.

In a statement, Brown Advisory noted that hiring Kirrage provided the firm an opportunity to expand its global equity platform at a time when concentrated global value strategies are in demand from clients.

“We are very excited to welcome Nick to Brown Advisory,” said Logie Fitzwilliams, co-CEO of and partner in Brown Advisory, in a statement. “He joins at a time when we are seeing increasing appetite from our clients for concentrated global and international value strategies, and we believe that he is the best person to lead these two new strategies for the firm.”

Brown Advisory is assembling a new, dedicated investment team based in London to support the new strategies led by Kirrage, and it will expand its global equity research platform.

“As a private, independent, colleague-owned firm, Brown Advisory has a culture that shares the long-term mindset crucial to value investing and attracting the best talent,” Kirrage said in a statement. “The opportunities across global and international value are considerable. I look forward to building this business which starts with hiring a highly talented investment team rooted in intellectual integrity and continuous learning.”

Kirrage earned a master of engineering degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Bristol in the U.K.

Brown Advisory, with $174.5 billion in assets under management, has expanded its footprint. In June, it announced the acquisition of London-based investment manager Marylebone Partners in a bid to offer global clients endowment-style investments. In May, Brown Advisory announced plans to expand in Abu Dhabi to be closer to its clients in the region. At that time, the firm named Jack Weatherby as head of its Middle East operations.
