American Landmark Apartments, a multifamily housing real estate investment manager, announced on Monday the appointment of Elizabeth Roy as CIO, effective immediately.

Roy will oversee the $7 billion Tampa, Florida-based asset manager’s investment platform, including acquisition sourcing and underwriting, portfolio strategy and performance, capital markets engagement, and risk management. She will also lead the firm’s investments and acquisitions teams.

Roy will report to Joe Lubeck, American Landmark Apartments’ CEO, and she will become a member of the firm’s executive leadership team.

Previously, Roy was a senior director of real estate at New York Life Investment Management. She also previously was an executive director at Morgan Stanley, where she originated and structured commercial mortgage-backed securities, agency, and single-asset, single borrower loans.

“American Landmark has built an impressive vertically-integrated platform and a reputation for disciplined, value-driven investment across the multifamily space,” Roy said in a statement. “I look forward to working alongside Joe and the talented team here to sharpen our investment strategy, strengthen our portfolio, and identify compelling opportunities. With supply pressures moderating and transaction activity picking up, this is a dynamic time for multifamily real estate, and I am excited to drive the next chapter of growth for American Landmark.”

Roy earned a bachelor of arts degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
