Janus Henderson Investors announced Monday the appointment of Kelly Cavagnaro, as head of North America institutional, within the firm’s North America client group. Cavagnaro, whose appointment is effective immediately, will report to Michael Schweitzer, head of Janus Henderson’s North America client group.

Cavagnaro will focus on expanding the London-headquartered firm’s institutional presence in North America, according to a statement. Kelly replaces T.F. Meagher, who left the firm last year to pursue other opportunities, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Cavagnaro was previously head of North America institutional sales and global consultant relations at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. She previously had held a number of roles at State Street Global Advisors over more than 18 years, including co-head of global consultant relations and head of OCIO and private bank distribution.

“Kelly brings a wealth of experience and extensive relationships with institutional clients and investment consultants,” said Schweitzer said in a statement. “Her expertise will help expand and deepen our institutional reach and will be instrumental in bringing our strong investment capabilities and solutions platform to our valued clients.”
