Chief Investment Officer is asking for your help in identifying qualified candidates for various list to be announced during 2026. Below is information for submitting nominations for our NextGen and Knowledge Broker lists and Industry Innovation Awards – Asset Owners. We are also seeking suggestions for additions to our Power 100 list.
CIO’s NextGen program recognizes the future leaders in institutional investing. NextGens are rising asset allocator stars from public pensions, corporate pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds and any other categories of institutional asset owners. If you know a person who possesses a virtuous mixture of financial knowledge, personal skills and forward thinking—someone who stands to someday become a CIO themselves—please nominate them for our 2026 NextGen list.
Each year, for our Knowledge Brokers list, Chief Investment Officer asks our audience of respected CIOs and allocators which consultants and advisers have “done right by them” in the current market environment. In recognition of how the information distribution network for institutional investors has evolved, we are expanding this recognition beyond traditional advisers and consultants. We are interested in learning to whom you look for wisdom, insight and guidance. Please nominate individuals you turn to, either in person or online, whether it is an investment manager, economist, peer, consultant or adviser.
CIO is asking for help in identifying asset owner organization leaders who are driving innovation in institutional asset management. If you work with or for a great asset owner, please help us recognize the best in the business. Nominations for the 2026 CIO Industry Innovation Awards are now being accepted in various categories.
CIO’s annual Power 100 list of allocators’ chief investment officers represents leadership, gravitas, adaptability, tenure, assets under management and change-making. As CIOs change organizations, retire or otherwise drop off the list, we welcome suggestions for additions.
All named to our lists will be honored at the CIO Industry Innovation Awards Dinner on November 16, 2026, in New York City. At the event, finalists for the Industry Innovation Awards will be recognized, and winners in each category will be announced.
