RBC Global Asset Management Inc. announced last week the retirement of Dan Chornous, the manager’s global CIO, effective January 31, 2026. Succeeding Chornous on the same day will be Stu Kewell, currently the Toronto-based firm’s global head of equities and a 30-year veteran of RBC.
Chornous has served as global CIO since 2002 and has worked with Kedwell for more than 25 years, according to a statement from RBC.
Kedwell will take oversight of the C$700 billion ($500 billion) manager’s investments, including its investment staff of 400 professionals who oversee 270 investment strategies across 20 asset classes.
“I am honored to take on the role of Global [CIO] and build on Dan’s remarkable legacy,” Kedwell said in a statement. “RBC GAM’s investment philosophy and client-centric approach are central to our purpose as a global investment manager, and I am excited to lead our talented team as we continue to focus on delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients.”
