(September 26, 2012)-Steve Smit, formerly State Street’s head of global services for the UK/MEA region, is returning to the United States to take up a position in the firm’s newly created Data and Analytics Solutions unit.
Smit had been responsible for investor services, securities finance, foreign exchange, equities, and fixed-income trading activities in the European market for the firm.
In an email from the firm to European clients obtained by aiCIO, State Street notes that Willie Slattery will take over Smit’s former role by “combin[ing] his current Head of European Offshore Domiciles responsibilities with the Head of Global Services UK/MEA role.” Slattery is a nine-year veteran of the firm.
The Data and Analytics Solutions unit “will leverage our technological, research and real-time data capabilities to provide our clients with enhanced solutions to address today’s complex investment and regulatory environment,” according to the email.
