Northern Trust Wealth Management announced Monday the appointment of Beata Kirr as CIO of its global family office group, the firm’s platform for family offices and high-net-worth individuals.
Kirr will oversee investment strategy for the group, leading portfolio construction and delivering insights to its more than 550 clients.
“Family offices today are navigating increasingly complex portfolios, private markets exposure and multigenerational planning challenges,” said Dino De Vita, Northern Trust’s president of global family and private investment offices, in a statement. “Beata brings a disciplined approach to asset allocation, manager selection and portfolio construction, grounded in years of advising sophisticated investors.”
Previously, Kirr was managing director and chief impact officer at private credit firm the Copia Group. She also spent 17 years at Bernstein Private Wealth Management, holding roles such as co-CIO and national managing director.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
“GFO is dedicated to supporting families who have worked diligently to create lasting legacies, and they deserve an investment strategy that matches their commitment and complexity,” Kirr said in a statement. “Family offices are often on the forefront of evolving investment opportunities, and I’m focused on delivering innovative solutions across asset classes for our clients.”
