Returning to the school where he earned his master’s degree, Sadikot succeeds Craig Smith, who was CIO from 2021 until his October 2025 departure. Sadikot will oversee the endowment’s investment activities and will guide its long-term investment strategy.
“Exceptional endowment management is essential to our long-term financial strength,” said Mike Howard, Tufts’ executive vice president, in a statement. “Rishad is a proven leader with a track record of delivering disciplined strategy and strong results.”
At Cambridge Associates, Sadikot advised universities, foundations and other institutional investors on portfolio construction, asset allocation, manager selection and investment strategy, according to a statement from Tufts, located just outside of Boston.
“If we do our job well, there are more dollars over time for financial aid, research and scholarships—for everything Tufts makes possible,” Sadikot said in a statement. “The goal is to generate strong returns so the university can expand the ability of all talented students, irrespective of financial background, to come here. That’s the driving motivator behind what we’re trying to do.”
Before joining Cambridge in 2014, Sadikot was on the infrastructure and project finance advisory team at the Global Clearinghouse for Development Finance.
Sadikot earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and commerce from the University of Mumbai and a master’s degree in international business from Tufts’ Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
