The Employees’ Retirement Fund of the City of Dallas is searching for a deputy CIO, according to a job posting from executive recruiting firm Alliance Resource Consulting.
The fund manages approximately $4 billion in assets and has a funding ratio of 71%.
“The Deputy Chief Investment Officer … serves as a key member of the Investment Division leadership team and assists the Chief Investment Officer in the development, implementation, and oversight of the Employees’ Retirement Fund’s investment program,” the job posting states.
Additional duties, according to the posting, include strategic leadership across asset classes, supporting the formulation of investment policy, and overseeing internal and external investment managers.
The fund’s previous deputy CIO, Natalie Jenkins Sorrel, was promoted to the CIO position in September, following the departure of executive director and CIO Cheryl Alston in May 2025. Sorrell was also a member of CIO’s 2019 NextGen class.
Requirements for the open position include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, as well as a minimum of 10 years of experience in institutional investment management. A Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation is also required for the role.
The listed salary range for the position is $140,000 to $195,000. Applications for the role are due August 24 and must be submitted to AllianceRC.
