State Street's OCIO approach is to build customized solutions for each clients’ objectives and preferences. We believe there is a role for both active and index investments in portfolios. Within an asset class, the portfolio construction and manager research teams utilize complementary investment strategies to create a dynamic portfolio with the best opportunity to achieve excess returns in any market environment. We believe in the use of market positioning as a way of generating excess returns. We believe the risk-reducing allocation within a portfolio is meant to behave like the interest rate and credit spread movements of the liability.
