Erin Abouzaid, who served as CIO for the $247 million foundation associated with Stony Brook University for four years, has joined New York-based hedge fund Hutchin Hill Capital. According to her LinkedIn, she started as director of the office of the CIO for the fund in May.

Hutchin Hill Capital is led by Neil Chriss, mathematician and former SAC Capital managing director.

Prior to the Stony Brook Foundation, Abouzaid spent five years at State Street working in the portfolio and risk management group. There she was responsible for quantitative research focused on asset-liability optimization, manager evaluation, and currency hedging analysis, her LinkedIn said.

Abouzaid holds a PhD in high energy physics from the University of Chicago, and was named among CIO’s Forty Under Forty list of up-and-coming asset owners earlier this year.

The Stony Brook Foundation told CIO it had just finished conducting a search for Abouzaid’s replacement and is in the process of completing interviews and due diligence.
