Two emerging market equity portfolio managers from Schroders have left for new positions at Neuberger Berman as senior portfolio managers on its emerging market equity team, according to a Neuberger spokesperson.
Vera German and Juan Torres, who together served as co-lead portfolio managers for Schroders’ EM value UCITS fund until October 2025, will continue to be based in London. The duo will succeed EM Portfolio Manager Conrad Saldanha, who is leaving Neuberger after 17 years.

She earned a bachelor of arts degree in European social and political studies from University College London.
Torres joined Schroders in 2017, working on its global value team, and in 2020 became a portfolio manager. He was previously an investment manager at Pictet Asset Management, focusing on EM, and held roles at Credit Suisse. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and foreign affairs from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and an MBA from Manchester Business School in the U.K.
Neuberger Berman managed $24 billion in emerging markets assets across equity and debt and $558 billion in total assets as of December 31, 2025.
