Aberdeen Standard Investments Appoints APAC Real Estate Investment Research

Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) has appointed Min Chow Sai as head of investment research – real estate, Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, Min Chow will lead ASI’s real estate research across Asia Pacific and provide investment insight and analysis for its global and regional portfolios.

Sai reports to Andrew Allen, London-based global head of investment research, real estate. Prior to joining ASI, he worked at Nomura Securities in Singapore for over a decade.

“Real estate is gaining more and more traction from international investors in the current low yield world, thanks to the asset class’ track record of delivering robust risk-adjusted returns and enhancing portfolio diversification,” he said. “The combination of in-depth local research, global insight and an active approach to investing has been critical to our success in global real estate portfolio management.”

George Holstead Joins Incapital LLC as Co-Head of Fixed Income

Incapital LLC announced that George Holstead has joined the firm as Co-Head of Fixed Income, reporting directly to CEO John DesPrez. In this role, Holstead will be part of the executive committee and will lead the institutional fixed income business. 

Holstead will be based in Boca Raton and work closely with Laura Elliot, co-head of fixed income, in advancing the broader strategy within fixed income. 

Holstead joins Incapital from Brean Capital where he was a managing director responsible for the creation and build out of the middle market and financial institutions group. During that time, he was a producing salesperson focused on U.S. Agency, mortgage-backed, and credit securities markets.


Blackstone Hires Raymond Chan as a Portfolio Manager for Registered Funds Platform

Raymond Chan has joined Blackstone as a managing director on the portfolio management and investment research team in Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (BAAM). Chan will serve as a portfolio manager for BAAM’s registered funds platform.

Prior to Blackstone, he spent fifteen years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as a managing director in global portfolio solutions, the multi-asset investing group within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania and an AB from Harvard University, where he graduated with honors.


CBAM Partners Hires Industry Veteran to Lead European Expansion

CBAM Partners has announced that Jean-Philippe Levilain, previously global head of loans & private debt at AXA Investment Managers, is joining the CBAM team to assist in the launch of its European business. 
Levilain brings more than 20 years of European credit investing experience to CBAM. With the addition of Levilain, CBAM’s offerings will expand to include U.S. and European credit strategies.
Levilain joined AXA Investment Managers in 2005 in Paris as a senior portfolio manager and then became the leader of the European high yield loan team in 2010. Prior to joining AXA, he spent seven years with BNP Paribas, where he held several positions as a loan trader and credit analyst
