Global Institutional Solutions (GIS) creates and manages multi-asset class portfolios for institutional clients. Clients often hire GIS to oversee the monitoring, rebalancing, and re-allocating using tactical tilts in their portfolios. Although the client continues to be responsible for setting the investment policy, GIS would be responsible for making over- and under-weights within the portfolio, subject to client-specified bands. In this case, GIS has continuous and transparent access to holdings of client portfolios and would rebalance or re-allocate anytime during the month, as needed, to meet objectives. Contributions and withdrawals also present opportunities for GIS to rebalance the portfolio within the client guidelines. |
