The ninth annual Innovation gala will again be held at the New York Public Library. Together with the asset-owning and managing community, Chief Investment Officer will highlight and celebrate the very best of institutional investing on December 13. Finalists and winners are chosen by the CIO editorial team in conjunction with an Advisory Board of CIOs. The CIO of the Year Award and NextGen award will also be announced during the award ceremony.

This year’s advisors include Raphael Arndt, CIO of Australia’s Future Fund; Jagdeep Singh Bachher, CIO, vice president of Investments, University of California; Matt Clark, CIO, South Dakota Investment Council; Scott Evans, CIO of the New York City Pension Funds; David Holmgren, CIO of Hartford HealthCare; Tom Joy, CIO, Church of England; Kim Lew, CIO, Carnegie Corporation of New York; Richard Nuzum, president of Mercer’s global wealth business (2017 Consultant of the Year); and Bob Watson, CIO of FCA US.

2018 Lifetime Achievement Award

Mansco Perry
CIO and Executive Director, Minnesota State Board of Investment

Mansco Perry, CIO and executive director of the $96 billion Minnesota State Board of Investment—who will receive the Lifetime Achievement award at the ninth annual CIO Innovation Awards dinner— embodies the values that drive much of the CIO community.

Past winners include Florida’s State Board of Administration (SBA) Ash Williams; Notre Dame’s Scott Malpass; the University of Texas Investment Management Co.’s Britt Harris; Rick Dahl, the newly retired CIO of the Missouri State Employees’ Retirement System; Strategic Investment Group’s Hilda Ochoa-Brillembourg; and NISA Investment Advisors’ Jess Yawitz and Bill Marshall.
